Name and Gender

• The name of the deceased is in the first column. It follows the word, "nombre.
• Often there will be two surnames - the father's and the mother's
• There can be several given names.
• In this example, the given names are Miguel Luis and the surname is Espinoza.
• Following the name of the deceased, is the gender.
• It follows the word "sexo"

• A female may be written feminino. It is indexed as an M for .mujer 
• The age of the deceased follows the word "edad" 

• Always round down to the lowest full year. A child that lives 10 ears and 11 months, is indexed as 10. A child that lives less than one year is indexed as a zero.

• Casado or CConyuge = married
• Viuda or Viudo = widow/er
• Soltera or Soltero = single

• Madre = mother
